This is another recent stripped back gig Lee Mavers has done with Gary Murphy. I ripped the audio from Superpaulmccabe's youtube channel so credit goes to him. Sound quality here is decent, loud shouting between songs but ok during them. Have another recent La's boot but not sure if I'm allowed to upload it so will have to sit on it for the time being I'm afraid. Artwork made by me, enjoy!

The La's - 2011-06-19 - Live At The Deaf Institute, Manchester

CARNIVAL OF LIGHT ORIGINAL!
This was a recent surprise gig by Lee Mavers, supporting another band in Manchester. It's not technically a La's gig, as it was only Lee and a guy called Gary Murphy, but the setlist is entirely comprised of La's tunes, so it seems fair to label it a La's gig to me. Exciting times though, as apparently a La's facebook, twitter etc. have all been set up in the last few days, as well as this gig happening. Maybe that mythical second album is finally on the cards? The audio from this gig was recorded by Chris, thanks go to him for his hard work and  apologies to him for not giving credit until now. The sound quality is fairly good, although the shouting between songs is quite loud. Hard to pick favourites from this setlist as almost every song is a classic. Recommended.

The La's - Kitchen Tape

This is a collection of La's demos from 1990-ish, just after their solitary album was released. None of the songs here have been officially released, which makes this a worthwhile donwload. Or it would, if it wasn't for the stumbling block that is the rather poor sound quality. This will put a lot of people off, although some of the songs have worse sound quality than others. It is very much listenable, but casual fans needn't bother. There is also a fair few failed takes of songs, but but despite these there are still 8 complete versions of songs; highlights include Was It Something I Said, I Am The Key, and Tears In The Rain. Only really recommended to serious La's fans, but to the initiated this is an excellent download.

The La's - Crescent Tape

This is (as far as I know) the most recent collection of songs from Lee Mavers, dating from 1998. The tape is so called as it was played to a Liverpool band called The Crescent, which I assume is how it was leaked. The sound quality is quite poor, but not nearly as bad as the Kitchen Tape from a few years earlier (will be posting that at some point in the future). Some good songs here, none of which have been heard anywhere else. Recommended to all fans of the band, if you can put up with the sound quality. Link and artwork are my own, enjoy!
