This seems to be one of the most common OCS boots online, but thought I would stick it up anyway. This is a homecoming gig which would've been from when they were touring in support of One From The Modern, released the same year. The setlist is a healthy 20 songs long, and incorporates all their best known songs, as well as a couple off One From The Modern and a cover of the Small Faces' All Or Nothing. Sound quality is good, very much listenable. Link and artwork are my own. Also, I am in the process of adding my own links to old posts where I used other people's, which will no doubt take a while but will mean links that are currently dead will be resurrected! Starting at the start and moving through, replacing a couple of links for The Verve and The Seahorses tonight.

Ocean Colour Scene - 1997-03-11 - The Loft, Berlin
OCS are a Mod and Britpop band from Birmingham. They've been releasing consistently great material for the past 15-odd years, and are one of my favourite bands. This recording was made at what many people would see as the peak of their career, on the tour of their excellent Mosely Shoals album. Not sure the equally splendid follow-up, Marchin' Already, had been released by this point as there are only two songs from that album in the setlist. The setlist is mostly made up of tracks from Mosely Shoals as well as the aforementioned two from Marchin'Already. There is also Robin Hood (a b-side) and three covers: Ronnie Lane's The Poacher, The Small Faces' All Or Nothing and The Beatles' Day Tripper . Not sure if Ronnie Lane had died by then, but I imagine The Poacher and All Or Nothing were played in tribute to himas he was definitely deteriorating by that point. This is an excellent gig, great setlist, great sound quality, a must for any OCS fan. However, would recommend Mosely Shoals and Marchin' Already for those looking to get into the band. I made this artwork, not great (as ever!) but some people (including me) like to have an artwork for everything in their iTunes so it's there if you want it!
