Paul Weller - 2002-07-28 - Live At Hyde Park

This excellent gig from 2002 was released on a DVD I believe, however the audio is quite hard to come across (well, until now!). You can watch this gig on youtube, to give you an idea of the excellent sound quality. The setlist here is a healthy 24 songs, and is mostly excepetional, perhaps with the exception of a couple of Heliocentric and Illumination-era tracks.  Paul is joined for the last two songs by Kelly Jones, of the Stereophonics. As far as I know, this is the only live performance of Call Me No. 5 (Weller and Jones's excellent collaboration which features on Illumination). Jones also takes vocals on parts of Woodcutter's Son, making it a unique version.  Well worth a download for the last two tracks alone, although the rest of the gig is excellent too.  Links and artwork are my own. Also, the blog recently hit 50 000 views! So thanks to everyone who has visited, and here's to 50 000 more :)

Paul Weller - 1996-08-18 - Live At V96

This is an excellent Weller gig from 1996, at the very first V Festival. The setlist is 20-odd songs featuring guest appearances from both Noel Gallagher and Ocean Colour Scene. This, for me, is right when Paul was at the height of his powers and as a result this is pretty much my dream Weller setlist! I originally got this from the ridiculously good Paul's Bootique blog, although uploaded my own link. The excellent artwork you see above is by Marco, although I chopped it down a bit to stick on iTunes. Sound quality here is pretty good, no complaints. Definitely worth a download for fans of Weller's mid-90s output.

Paul Weller - 2011-04-02 - Live At The Brixton Academy

Have only posted older Weller stuff so far, so decided to mix things up a bit with a newer gig. I was lucky enough to be in attendance at this gig, it was a great night with not a bad act there. I've seen Paul live three times but this was easily my favourite gig of his I've been to; as it was a shorter set he missed out a lot of his poor recent material and just played a selection of hits and rockers. Highlights include Peacock Suit, Whirlpools End, The Changingman and From The Floorboards Up. Sound quality is very good as this is a radio broadcast, although there is talking in between some of the songs. I made this artwork myself. Recommended to anyone who was there on the night and Weller fans of any description. Will hopefully be posting more performances from the night in future!

Paul Weller - 1992-10-19 - Live, Milan

This is a Paul Weller gig from 1992, by which time he had ditched the 'Paul Weller Movement' name and released his excellent debut album. This is a very good quality recording, with a great setlist including some rare B-sides and a few covers (Marvin Gaye's What's Going On and Neil Young's Ohio) as well as the bulk of his 1991 album. Highlights include the aforementioned What's Going On and Ohio, as well as Into Tomorrow and the B-side Everything Has A Price to Pay. I made this artwork myself as there was none available when I looked. This is recommended for all Weller fans due to the excellent sound quality and rare tracks played. Those looking to get into Weller should start with Stanley Road and Wild Wood.

Paul Weller Movement - Live Town And Country Club 1990

Sorry about the delay between posts, thought I had scheduled some but they haven't been published for some reason. Anyway, found this live recording from when Paul Weller was beginning to rebuild his career after the Style Council and was touring under the name The Paul Weller Movement. This contains songs from his Jam and Style Council days as well as some that would make it onto his debut album or were released as B-sides. I again made the artwork, tried to make it similar to the one for the Brixton Academy boot. One disadvantage of the background was that none of the font colours really stood out, so had to make do with this one which was actually one of the best upon testing. As usual, it's not included in the download. Not listened to this yet so can't recommend songs or comment on sound quality, but let me know if you download it.
